Our recent event, Smart Design for Sustainable Cities, featuring Dr Gunter Pauli, was a good success. It was great to hear that most people were inspired by Dr Pauli’s vision for a Blue Economy, challenged by Dr Tim William’s thoughts on Sydney’s housing crisis and aligned with Steve Lennon’s view on the need for effective metropolitan governance and community engagement, to create the agile cities we need.

Ideas in my Backyard: Game Over (for now)

We have carefully reviewed the ideas submitted to our ‘Ideas in My Backyard’ session last year. We have decided to hold off on progressing any one of these ideas for the moment, until we are able to mobilise greater support and engagement from local stakeholders in the Ultimo precinct.
Sustainable Suburbs

Sustainable Streets Chippendale is an excellent local example of sustainable solutions used to reuse waste, conserve water, source local and healthy food and reduce pollution. Located near the UTS Ultimo campus which recently hosted a New Agenda workshop, the opportunities for real sustainable change in this part of Sydney are great.

Over the coming weeks, you are invited to join us ONLINE at The New Agenda website, or to come in person and meet us at UTS’s Haymarket Campus in Ultimo. Regardless of whether you can attend in person, we invite you to submit your best ideas for action that can make a positive impact in your world and inspire others to follow your lead.
Vision Lab Workshop Debrief

The latest workshop ‘Vision Lab’ was facilitated by Arup and hosted by UTS:Business School of Management on June 20, 2011. It was agreed that the best way to ‘walk the talk’ is to demonstrate the principles of meaningful engagement, behaviour change, climate change adaptation and socially and ecologically minded business in a live Demonstration Project.
